Renewing of the Mind

by Tammy Hardin on December 14, 2009

Victory Over DarknessPeople that suffer with emotional roller coaster lives (depression, anxiety, addiction) tend to dwell on the negative in their lives.  They don’t really mean to but often times there has been so much negative that has happened it is difficult to not dwell on the negative or believe that good is not coming even though you really wish that it were.

As I began to study Neil Anderson’s writings Victory Over Darkness and Bondage Breakers I began to understand that the battle rests in the mind.  The mind has to be renewed.  Most of addicts that I have worked with have spent years meditating on negativity, what they are afraid of, the past, etc.  There has to be a new focus, a new meditation in order to shift from negativity which is darkness to positive which is light.  In Romans 12:2 the Bible tells me, “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what Bondage BreakersGod’s will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will”.

The first action is to begin to  speak scripture daily.  Reading scripture is good but saying it out loud so you can hear it, so satan can hear you say it.  As  you begin to say the following scripture you will begin to take on a new power.  You will begin to know Who you are in Christ.  Knowing who you are in Christ gives you new power, lifts depression, settles anxiety, brings on new confidence.

This is not an overnight event.  Do it twice daily, out loud, for thirty days.  Be diligent, be committed! You will be amazed….
